Bright surfaces also look a bit grainy, but this is hard to notice from a regular viewing distance. The subjective picture impression is still very good, but the picture just does not look as vivid.
This process is supposed to ensure the same picture quality you get with a glossy screen. Many manufacturers use additional matte filters, but the nano-texture is etched into the glass in this case. It is still a glossy panel by default, but now you can select the matte nano-texture glass for 609 Euros (~$720). The resolution is still 5120x2880 pixels (16:9) and there are no scaling issues in macOS.
